Dr. Mahima Gupta is an economist specializing in Macroeconomics, Public Finance, and Applied Economics. Dr. Mahima Gupta holds over five years of academic experience in teaching and research. Her doctoral thesis, “A Study on Dynamic Fiscal Multipliers,” examines how the effectiveness and transmission of fiscal multipliers evolve across varying structural characteristics of economies.
She previously worked as a Consultant with the Macro Finance Team at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (Ministry of Finance, Government of India). Her research portfolio includes exchange rate regime analysis, herding behaviour of Foreign Institutional Investors using Securities and Exchange Board of India data, fiscal sustainability of government health insurance schemes, and district-level health outcome analysis using NFHS and CMIE datasets.
Dr. Gupta has also taught at leading colleges under the University of Delhi and served as Adjunct Faculty with Golden Gate University. Her work integrates empirical methods, econometric modelling, and policy analysis, with a strong commitment to bridging academic research and practical economic decision-making.
